About the Musicians DIY Jazz Quartet has been playing together in the Baltimore/Washington MD area for over twenty years. Consisting of keyboardist Kevin Rose, drummer Eric Arbach, flutist Aliki Arbach and guitarist/bassist Matt Arbach, their repertoire is diverse, including both original and arranged material. The styles include traditional jazz, jazz fusion, blues, reggae, Latin, R&B, and funk. All four members studied classical music and hold music degrees. Rose is a jazz graduate from Towson University, while the others received their degrees from Ithaca College in New York State. Aliki, Kevin and Matt are teachers - Aliki is the vocal music and general music teacher at Laurel Elementary, while Kevin and Matt teach privately out of the Maryland Music Academy in Columbia, MD as well as on their own. Both Kevin and Matt are also part of the praise band Jubilation at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Laurel, DIY Jazz Quartet tries to merge passion with craftsmanship in their music with the goal of being accessible as well as challenging. South Hill Revival shares Aliki, Eric and Matt, along with bassist Darelynn Fung. Darelynn received a degree in music education from Ithaca College. She is an instrumental music teacher in Prince George’s County public schools as well as an active bassoonist in local classical groups. South Hill Revival plays the music they grew up hearing from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s, as well as even more recent favorites.
