We have another not-to-miss speaker! Join us this month as we welcome Cyndi Stinson, the active holder of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission's Marine Turtle Stranding and Salvage Permit for STPS. Under that program, she also coordinates the Sea Turtle Emergency Response Program (STERP). Cyndi is also an incoming PhD student at the University of Florida, where her research focuses on Florida's sea turtle conservation volunteers. 

In this talk, Cyndi will take us behind the scenes of one of Florida’s longest tenured and busiest sea turtle stranding response teams. You may be wondering what happens when the call comes in, what the work actually looks like in the field, how it contributes to understanding the evolving threats to sea turtles, and where the conservation community can have the greatest impact. Drawing on years of memorable cases, team members will discuss their experiences and how taking an active role in sea turtle conservation has impacted their lives.
