Functional Preparation for Pregnancy & Birth

ShapeShift is a prenatal movement class designed to support how the pregnant body adapts throughout pregnancy and prepares for birth.
Grounded in the Body Ready Method® and a conscious birth approach, this class focuses on functional movement, pelvic coordination, breath, and alignment—rather than fitness, flexibility, or preset yoga sequences.
ShapeShift recognises pregnancy as a time of continuous change and adaptation, and supports movement that works with your body and your baby as that change unfolds.
What to Expect
Each class blends movement, education, and awareness to support both pregnancy comfort and birth preparation:
Functional, evidence-informed prenatal movement
Pelvic mobility and coordination to support labour and birth
Breath and nervous system awareness
Education woven into movement so learning happens through experience
Rather than perfecting poses, participants learn why certain movements support comfort, efficiency, and confidence during pregnancy and birth.

Who It’s For
Pregnant individuals at any stage of pregnancy
First-time and experienced parents
Vaginal or planned cesarean births
No prior yoga or movement experience required
Movements are adapted as pregnancy progresses, and many participants attend throughout their pregnancy.

Facilitators
This class is co-facilitated by Joanne Yanke and Jenel Maruk.
Joanne brings a background in Kinesiology (Exercise Science), BodyTalk Therapy, birthkeeping, and the Body Ready Method®, offering a body-led, evidence-informed lens on pregnancy and birth preparation.
Jenel, a RMT, birthkeeper, Body Ready Method® Pro and so much more, brings extensive experience supporting pregnant bodies through prenatal movement and yoga, with a grounded, compassionate teaching style that supports awareness, adaptability, and trust in the body.
Together, they offer a class that bridges biomechanics, consciousness, and embodied movement, supporting both physical preparation and confidence for birth.
