The concept of the non-browning apple has been fully proven at OSF and successfully implemented through the commercialization of several Arctic® apple varieties, including Arctic Golden, Arctic Granny, Arctic Fuji, and Arctic Gala. Arctic apple varieties have the same nutritional composition as their parental varieties (Golden Delicious, Granny Smith, and Fuji) and have been declared safe for food use by the FDA and Health Canada. OSF’s research and development program spans over two decades, with its research laboratory (OSF-Lab) located at Innovation Place in Saskatoon, near the University of Saskatchewan. OSF-Lab is the origin of all Arctic apple varieties developed by the company. It continues to work on developing fruit varieties with novel traits related to nutritional enhancements, resistance to abiotic stress, and disease resistance.Visitors will be responsible for their own parking on the premises.
