Join us for a full-day pysanka etching workshop, exploring one of the most striking and expressive Ukrainian egg-decorating techniques. This immersive experience is open to both beginners and more experienced pysanka artists.
The day begins with a morning introduction to pysanka etching (10:00 AM–12:00 PM), focusing on the fundamentals of the technique. Participants will learn how to safely etch designs into eggs using a mild acid (vinegar), creating texture, contrast, and depth. This session is ideal for first-time etchers or anyone seeking a strong foundation in the process.
In the afternoon advanced session (1:00–3:30 PM), participants with prior etching experience will build on these skills by incorporating dye. This extended workshop explores layering, colour contrast, and refinement, resulting in richly detailed, high-impact designs.
Throughout the day, participants can expect step-by-step guidance tailored to each session, dedicated time for dye baths and refinement, instruction in achieving intricate, three-dimensional effects, and all materials provided.
Members: $65 / Non-Members: $90
