ClaytonInfo: Storytelling necessitates deep sharing and vulnerability. Storytelling is both a descent into the fullness of who we are—made in the image and likeness of God—as well as a bridge across which we encounter the fullness of another. Stories help us claim our unique identity in God and recognize our shared identity with our neighbour, priming us to better welcome the stranger. In this session, we will explore what it means to know and share our own stories while inviting others to know and share their own. Includes a refreshment break.?: 07:00 PM - 08:30 PMCultivating a Spirituality of Curiosity: How Myth, Fairy Tales and...Host: Eric A. ClaytonInfo: Cultivating a Spirituality of Curiosity: How Myth, Fairy Tales and the Stories of our Days Can Lead Us to God. Too often, we settle for judgement over curiosity. If we know it all, we have no need for others—other opinions, other ways of life, other insights into God. Fortunately, stories abound—both ancient and new—that can cultivate in us a desire for the new, the strange, the wild. That curiosity leads us out of ourselves and into the arms of others, of a community, of the People of God. In this session, we will use stories, tropes and motifs from everything from fairy tales to Star Wars, from Frozen to Ted Lasso, to discover how God continues to weave new threads into the narrative tapestry of creation. Friday, July 10?: 09:00 AM - 11:00 AMRecognizing & Responding to the Call of Christ: Dilexi te and the Ignatian....Host: Eric A. ClaytonInfo: Recognizing & Responding to the Call of Christ: Dilexi te and the Ignatian Exercises. Christ calls to us across time and space, always desiring that we turn our lives toward God’s great project of justice, peace, mercy and love. In his apostolic exhortation, Dilexi te, Pope Leo XIV reminds us once again of this universal invitation, challenging us to situate our unique calls against the backdrop of the global Church. St. Ignatius of Loyola, in his Spiritual Exercises, gives us a meditation through which we might more readily grapple with this challenge: The Call of Christ. In this session, we will explore what this call looks like in our lives, how it is reflected in Dilexi te and what we are set upon to do in response. Includes a refreshment break.?: 11:15 AM - 12:00 PMEucharistInfo: All are welcome.?: 02:00 PM - 04:00 PMIntroduction to The Welcoming PrayerHost: Fr. Kevin McGeeInfo:
The Welcoming Prayer is a method of consenting to God’s presence and action in our physical and emotional reactions to events and situations in daily life. The purpose of the Welcoming Prayer is to deepen our relationship with God through consenting in the ordinary activities of our day — “consent-on-the-go." There will be an opportunity to experience The Welcoming Prayer during the session. Includes a refreshment break.?: 07:00 PM - 08:00 PMTaize PrayerHost: St. Philip Neri Music MinistryInfo: You are warmly invited to experience a meditative service featuring gentle music in the form of simple yet profound prayer chants, often based on Scripture or Psalms. Short periods of silence and candlelit contemplation foster peace, renewal, and unity. Originating from the ecumenical Taizé Community in France, this prayer style brings together people of all walks of life. The service includes readings from Scripture, litany prayer, and there is no preaching. Whether you’re sitting in quiet contemplation or joining in the chants, the experience is one of peace and renewal. If this is your first experience of Taize, you will be very welcomed.Saturday, July 11?: 09:00 AM - 11:00 AMSpirituality of Hospitality: Creating Free Space for Ourselves and OthersHost: Sr. Cindy Lewans, PMInfo: Includes a refreshment break.?: 11:15 AM - 12:00 PMMary: A Celebration in SongHost: St. Philip Music MinistryInfo: All are welcome.?: 05:00 PM - 06:00 PMSunday Eucharist at St. Philip Neri ParishHost: St. Philip Neri ParishInfo: Join us for Sunday Mass.
