Founded by the esteemed Cuban bassist and composer Mauricio J. Rodriguez, the ensemble burst onto the scene during the St. Petersburg Latin Jazz Festival in July 2021 with the release of Rodriguez's captivating album, “Luz.”The Mauricio J. Rodriguez (MJR) Latin Project boasts a lineup of exceptionally talented musicians, including Grammy-winning saxophonist Zach Bornheimer, the dynamic pianist Pablo Arencibia, and the versatile drummer Andy Fornet, who previously added his rhythms to Orquesta Revé and Charanga Habanera in Cuba.
