Since 1984 the program has welcomed young performers ages 8–18 to participate in professional-level productions regardless of experience or financial means.This fall Sarasota Youth Opera proudly presents Brundibár by Hans Krása – a powerful opera originally performed by children during World War II at the Theresienstadt concentration camp. A moving tale of resilience courage and friendship Brundibár tells the story of two children who with the help of animal friends stand up to a wicked organ grinder in their quest to save their ailing mother.Performance Dates:November 8 & 9 2025Sarasota Opera HouseParticipation in this production is open to all youth ages 8–18 with no prior experience required.
