Oaxaca is known for its boisterous street parades (a calenda) typically used for weddings, when guests, dancing women in traditional dress, and lots of music take over the streets. But we're hosting our very own calenda as festival guests walk (a few blocks) to Casa Convite, one of Oaxaca's premier mezcal brands.
The dinner experience at Convite combines two of Oaxaca's most iconic creations..mole and mezcal. In this airy and charming event space, multiple stations will offer the various types of mole dishes that are typical of the Oaxacan culinary heritage.
Mezcalitas, in different flavors, will be flowing, tortillas will be cooking on the comal, and a demonstration area, describing just how complex moles are to make, will educate and entertain you.
