Raised in Chicago, she spent her childhood observing wildlife in local parks. Her interest in animal care began with her first pet, a hamster, and grew steadily over the years.After moving to San Francisco in 1987, Marcia built a successful career as an advertising artist. In 2015, she relocated to Sonoma County for a more nature-centered lifestyle. Two years later, she began volunteering at the Sonoma County Wildlife Rescue hospital in Petaluma, where she found a special talent for caring for baby squirrels. For the past eight years, Marcia has served as a Squirrel Specialist at the rescue center, raising and rehabilitating orphaned squirrels.
