Docents help the children of our community deepen their enthusiasm, appreciation, and knowledge of the Laguna de Santa Rosa wetlands and the plants and animals that share the watershed.Attend orientation to find out if being a Docent is a good fit for you! At the orientation you will learn about the Laguna de Santa Rosa ecosystem, the work of the Laguna Foundation, and the role of a Learning Laguna docent in teaching the specially-designed activities for the classroom and the field. Also, all the training course details will be discussed.Training takes place on eight consecutive Tuesdays between February 24-April 14. Plus, trainees choose their own dates to shadow the program in action to put all the training materials and practice learning into context.Upon completion of the training course, a minimum commitment of 20 volunteer hours each spring and each fall is requested. Learning Laguna Docents volunteer primarily on weekday mornings in September -October and March-May.
