In The Art of Living Water, award-winning oil painter Kayley Smith devotes two full days entirely to water — how to see it, how to mix it, how to make it shimmer and breathe on canvas. The techniques you will learn apply to any water subject: the emerald Gulf just outside your door, a glassy mountain lake at sunrise, a rushing river catching the afternoon light, a tide pool, a coastal wave, or a still reflecting pond.
 
Kayley's perspective on water has been shaped by years of painting in Alaska — glacial lakes, icy rivers, mist-covered bays, and the way arctic light turns water into something almost electric.
