We have the blessing to honor the solstice and open this doorway in a ritual rooted in the ancient tradition of the Nahuas of central Mexico.As we approach the solstice, we are going inward, to a place of stillness and quiet, contemplating the balance in our lives. This ceremony is an opportunity to release what's no longer needed and to receive guidance and beneficial awareness for the coming months.Together we’ll honor the deep mystery and the cycles of life and welcome the return of the light!About Our Ceremonial LeaderJohn Huang was initiated as a weather worker in the Nahua tradition of central Mexico in 2019 by Don David Wiley, successor of the late Don Lucio Campos Elizalde. You can learn more about the Nahua Weather Working Lineage of Don Lucio Campos by watching this short documentary film. After the ritual is complete, you’re welcome to stay for a community potluck. Please bring food or drink to share.9pm clean up. Many hands make light work!COST: While the event is free, donations are a form of exchange. Funds collected help offset the expenses involved in hosting monthly fires.
