skin to sky: radical play as resistance

Join us for community kite flying at the Annenberg Community Beach House. This event culminates Silvi Naçi’s 2025 Fall Artist Residency project at Feminist Center for Creative Work, skin to sky: radical play as resistance. This project draws from an art practice Naçi has been building in many forms, around the globe for quite some time.

Whether through reading groups, interviews, weaving, performance, collaborative making, or sharing tea and a meal, Silvi Naçi’s work is about the deep connections and impactful shifts made through collaboration and play—and the space this creates for new, radical queer, feminist acts and ways of being together to emerge.

Throughout the residency, Silvi has invited participants to engage in various forms of play, as well as to co-author cyanotypes on silk and cotton, which have been translated into kites during a collaborative workshop. We invite you to come fly these kites with us and to bring your own kites to fly, to practice the transformational act of play!

The Annenberg Community Beach House is located at 415 Pacific Coast Hwy. Parking is available for $3 per hour or $12 per day. Please pay for parking at the machine upon your arrival. Exact change cash and credit cards are accepted. Ample bike parking is available; please bring a lock.
