This training of the mind dates back to the Buddha and the great masters of India, particularly the teachings of Lord Atisha and his teacher Lama Serlingpa, who emphasize expanding oneself through a sense of universal responsibility to uplift one’s environment.During this weekend program, Dzigar Kongtrul Rinpoche will explore fundamental concepts of lojong, or mind training, and how to apply the timeless teachings in our modern world.The event is Friday evening from 7:30 to 9pm, and Sunday evening from 7:30 to 9pm. In particular he received the teachings of the Nyingma lineage from his root teacher, Kyabje Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche. Rinpoche also studied extensively under Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche, Nyöshul Khen Rinpoche and the great scholar Khenpo Rinchen.In 1989 Rinpoche moved to the United States with his family and began a five-year tenure at Naropa University as the first holder of the World Wisdom Chair. During that time Rinpoche founded Mangala Shri Bhuti, an organization dedicated to establishing a genuine sangha of the Longchen Nyingtik lineage in the West.
