ANTONIO ARTESE WEST COAST TRIO "NEW HORIZONS"

We are delighted to welcome back the extraordinary Antonio Artese West Coast Trio — this time debuting their bold new project New Horizons. In a space steeped in musical legend, the trio invites you on a journey where tradition meets innovation, composition meets improvisation, and piano-trio heritage meets fresh, exploratory sound.

At the heart of this evening: piano, bass and drums engage in a rich and intimate dialogue, each instrument speaking with its own voice, each moment evolving organically. Expect two sets of original compositions and inventive arrangements, where lyrical melodies intertwine with rhythmic vitality and open harmonic landscapes.

Featuring:
– Antonio Artese on piano – an Italian pianist and composer whose work bridges jazz and classical, whose lyrical touch and harmonic elegance reflect inspirations from Bill Evans to European minimalism.
– Luca Alemanno on bass – Italian-born, Los Angeles-based bassist and composer, praised for his modern voice in jazz and his global collaborations.
– Mark Ferber on drums – the California-born master whose refined touch, tonal variety and extensive recording history bring depth and nuance to this ensemble.

Together, this trio embodies a jazz spirit that looks inward and outward — rooted in the form yet eager to chart new musical territories.

– The new New Horizons project — original pieces and arrangements born of the trio’s artistic exploration of sound and form.
– The Bartókiana Suite — inspired by the rhythmic and harmonic world of Béla Bartók, re-imagined within the piano-trio context.
– New arrangements of Alexander Scriabin’s Preludes, Op. 11 — exploring the edge of classical and jazz interplay.

The Moroccan Room at The Village Studios is not just a venue — it is a place of historical resonance: a former Masonic lodge turned legendary recording space, home to orchestras, major recording artists and cherished live-sessions alike.
