“Our Town”-- a 1938 metatheatrical three-act play by American playwright Thornton Wilder -- will be performed as a staged reading presented by Actions Speak Louder. The play tells the story of the fictional American small town of Grover's Corners between 1901 and 1913 through the everyday lives of its citizens. The Characters are portrayed by an incredible cast of readers.

No scenery, no props, just actors and the audience's imagination—which makes a staged reading not a stripped-down version of the play but something close to its truest form.

Nearly ninety years on, “Our Town” remains one of the most-produced plays in America—not out of nostalgia, but because every generation rediscovers it was written about them. For one night only, with a special cast on the Kaplan Family Stage, it's a reminder of the thing live theater does that nothing else can.
