David March Park has undergone a significant transformation, adding eight acres and introducing a variety of new amenities designed to serve residents of all ages. The expanded park now includes a brand-new baseball field with shaded, terraced spectator seating, a shaded picnic pavilion for gatherings and celebrations and a lighted basketball court that allows for extended evening play. Enhancements to the playground area, including additional shade structures, provide greater comfort for families, while new outdoor exercise equipment offers more opportunities for recreation and fitness.

One of the most unique additions to the park is a 116-step exercise staircase built along the ridgeline, offering both a physical challenge and scenic views that showcase the natural beauty of Santa Clarita. Accessibility improvements were also a key priority in the project, with the addition of two new parking lots to make it easier for visitors to enjoy the park. An eye-catching public art installation, featuring Dalle de Verre glass elements, now serves as a vibrant centerpiece, reflecting sunlight and creating a dynamic visual experience throughout the day.

David March Park remains a meaningful tribute to its namesake, Deputy David William March of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, who tragically lost his life in the line of duty in 2002. A resident of Saugus and graduate of Canyon High School, Deputy March served his community with honor, and the park stands as a lasting place of remembrance, gratitude and unity.
