As a teacher-leader or administrator, what may have always worked well in the past, is no longer effective. Formerly effective teaching strategies, practices, and systems are no longer serving our communities.Ready for a shift? UDL 3.0 can serve as a powerful framework for increasing learner engagement and reintroducing a sense of joy for learning. Based on neuroscientific research, Universal Design for Learning shifts the focus away from “fixing” students who differ from a mythical “average” or standard, and calls us to look at accessibility of the overall design so that the learning environment is truly inclusive to all – respecting all of the multiplicities learners bring. With UDL, it isn’t about convincing students to learn our way; it’s about creating spaces that welcome students to learn their way.Through interactive activities, collaboration, and reflection, you will learn practical strategies for designing with UDL 3.0 that can work in your context.Join us for an all-day in-person workshop to gain familiarity with UDL and the major shifts associated with the recent 3.0 updates.
