At Julian Farm & Orchard On Highway 78 Near Julian CA -ALL PARTICIPANT IMPRESSIONS FROM THE NAPOLEONIC PERIOD ARE WELCOME: MILITARY, CIVILIAN, FRENCH, ALLIES, INFANTRY, CAVALRY…..Please be as historically accurate/plausible in your clothing and gear as possible, but we’re not going to “police” you. Our aim is inclusion and growth of Napoleonic reenactment. -The site is open to the public Saturday and Sunday 10am-4pm. -Our activities will be scheduled during those open hours. -Set up is encouraged on Friday May 2nd from 2pm onward. For safety reasons, vehicles will not be allowed in encampments during public hours. -Participant camping is encouraged on Friday and Saturday nights. -There is no “admission” or “site” fee to participants, but since our parent organization Brigade Napoleon provides event insurance coverage, all participants should be members, though it is not required to attend. Annual membership is $25usd, and should be paid directly to the organization. Please contact BN vice president @JimCormier for details. Membership sign up may be available at the event, but please try to do it in advance. Be advised, should you decline to join Brigade, you assume all liability for your actions. You may have noticed that the poster shows “$10 Entry”. This is charged by the venue only to the public, to cover the site costs over and above our $300 rental fee which is being covered by the Brigade. The public won’t be around Friday, so we have the run of the place without distractions. There will be two camp areas, one French, one Allies/British. Upon arrival, please see me or Stephen Liem for directions. Apple Tree Inn, directly across the road from the site, may have rooms available, if you do not wish to camp. www.JulianAppleTreeInn.com – 760-765-0222 There are AirBNBs in the area, as well as other accommodations in Julian. Public hours for the Farm are 10am to 4pm. During that time, no vehicles will be allowed on the grounds due to farm liability considerations. This presents a small problem for those who want to leave early on Sunday, since the public will be allowed onsite until 4pm, which limits the earliest load-out time for us. I intend to arrange it so that those who want to leave as early as 2pm be able to do so, but that’s as yet uncertain. More details to follow. Meal Plan- Available to any participant, $25 per person for the weekend. Must be paid by 12 midnight Sunday April 27. We accept cards, Venmo, Paypal. Red wine from my home vineyard will accompany evening meals. Includes- - Friday Dinner - Saturday Breakfast - Saturday Full Dinner - Sunday Light Breakfast Menu will be posted soon. Sunday breakfast will not include coffee, but there is a bakery next door to the site where coffee may be purchased from 9am. Saturday afternoon after the public leaves (4:30pm), all are welcome to come to my property 12 minutes from the site to for live fire target shooting. This is NOT a Brigade sanctioned activity. You must supply your own cartridges and lead shot. All participants must supply their own black powder for the entire event. Any cavalry impressions may inquire with me if they wish to rent a horse for the event, subject to my approval. I must see you ride, either in person or by video, prior to the event.
