- **Event Description**: Meet up at Jerry's Shopping Center on Sanibel for the SWFL Critical Mass Sanibel night ride. We will be rolling along the beautiful paved bike paths of the island. The ride is at a relaxed pace (8-10 mph) for a total of 11-12 miles depending on route, with a break midway. This should be a very fun and safe ride perfect for all ages and skill levels. Don’t forget to light it up. The island is dark with little light pollution. 

TIME: Meet-up @ 7:00pm Roll Out 7:30pm 

PARKING: Park at Jerry's Plaza located at 1700 Periwinkle Way. After crossing the Sanibel Causeway turn right onto Periwinkle Way, it is about one mile on your right located at the intersection of Periwinkle Way and Casa Ybel Road.

Here are the SWFL Critical Mass ride guidelines: 

 1. YOU RIDE AT YOUR OWN RISK! Your being careful and responsible is up to you. We announce the ride, ride along, enjoy.

2. Be nice, nice works! Being nice during one of those rare situation, keeps our positive wavelength strong -even if they don't receive your kindness in the moment. If they escalate anger, kindly ride away.

3. Lights are REQUIRED by Florida Law. This is a night time ride, so you must have AT MINMUM at Front and rear light - all others are optional, just for fun! You need to be seen by cars and the riders surrounding you. Please remember to put head & tail lights in NON flash mode. 

4. Helmets. Protect your brain and your pretty face! There are a lot of us riding, though we are careful, a bike to bike fall can easily cause injury. Helmets are STRONGLY ENCOURAGED for ALL ADULT riders and is MANDATORY by Florida Law for all riders age 16 years and under.

5. Ride speed is 8-10 mph. If you're a slow rider, it is easier if you keep toward the front of the group.

6. Do not overtake the front of group ride leader. If you see others in front, it is because they have been instructed to do so.

7. When riding on roadways, keep to the right side of the road & allow space on the left for Corkers to pass. If you are told to move out of the way by a Corker, please do so, we're all in this for enjoyment and NO injuries.

 ***THE MAJORITY OF THIS RIDE WILL BE ON MULTI-USE PATHS. Riders should ride NO MORE THAN 2 ABREAST to ensure plenty of space to merge into single file in the event of approaching pedestrian/bike traffic.****

8. Ride with consistency (no weaving) & communicate, if you're passing someone, just an easy, "Passing on your left" is all it takes. Shout out potholes, gator or other needed information to those behind you.

9. Keep the swarm of bikes tight (No more than a 3 bike spread).

10. When you ride with SWFL CM you leave your worries behind. You can pick them up later in a new perspective.
