Robert Rogers was a famous frontiersman who rose to fame during the French and Indian War and then sided with the British during the American Revolutionary War. But who was this frontier farmer, raised in Dunbarton, New Hampshire? Thirty years after his death in obscurity in May 1795, his exploits were mined by James Fenimore Cooper for his best-selling novels — and again in the 20th and 21st centuries for other novels, histories, movies, and television.
