- **Event Description**: Exciting things are happening at Lee County Libraries! As we prepare to move into the new Main Library, there will be a temporary closure while staff relocate collections, equipment, and services. 

During the closure, the Broadway Branch will remain open and patrons can use their LCL library cards at other NC Cardinal libraries. Main Library due dates and fines will be paused. Here’s what to expect during the transition:

March 20 | Resource Sharing Pauses
Interlibrary loan and NC Cardinal resource sharing will pause during the move and resume April 20.

March 28 | Current Main Library Closes
The Main Library at Hawkins Ave will close to the public at 5 PM.

March 30 - April 10 | Moving Period
Library staff will move the entire collection and equipment to the new building. The Broadway Branch will remain open with normal hours.

April 13 - April 17 | Setup & Staff Training
Staff will prepare the new building and complete training on new systems.

April 20 - May 1 | Soft Opening
The new Main Library will reopen with regular hours while staff resume services and prepare for the official celebration.

May 2 | Grand Opening Celebration
Join us for the official Grand Opening of the new Main Library! Enjoy a full day of activities and programs, building tours, live performances, food trucks, and more!

Library Hours: 10 AM - 5 PM
Grand Opening Events: 10 AM - 4 PM
Ribbon Cutting Ceremony: 10 AM

(Behind the State Employees’ Credit Union and beside O.T. Sloan Park)

Parking Information:
Parking at the library will be limited during the Grand Opening Celebration. Park & Ride service will be available from O.T. Sloan Park (1420 Bragg St.) from 9:30 AM - 4:30 PM.
