Who did in our poor Museum Curator? Honey, I don't know, but I intend to find out. Clues will be dropped, suspects will squirm, and by the end of the night we are going to unravel a tale so tangled up in century-old family secrets you won't believe your ears. Will we catch the killer? Only one way to find out.And here's the best part: every dime raised supports the Sanford Museum. Tickets are $30 each.See you there... and wear something you can gossip in!RULESThis is the Sanford Historical Society's second annual M**der mystery party. One can either play as a Nosy Neighbor (GUEST), Detective, or as a member of a family, who are all potential suspects. The M**der mystery will be broken down into three parts: the PARTY, where guests and suspects will mingle; the DISCOVERY of the body; and then the DELIBERATION AND VOTING on who the guilty family might be.There are seven "families" in attendance, each with four family "members" and each with a reason why they might want to commit M**der. Therefore there are 28 possible suspects. Families are color coded to help keep details straight for the detectives on the case, and we ask that you please wear your assigned color - the more you wear of that color, the better! We encourage you to make up a character and plan with your family.One week before the big night, the Sanford Historical Society will send attendees information about your family as well as the contact information of your fellow family members, if not already known. Each family will have 10 bits of information (clues) that must be shared during the first hour and a half of the event. Ideally, each person in your family will reveal each clue casually in conversation during that time.One night before the event, we will contact the GUILTY FAMILY to inform them of an additional assignment. If you are the guilty family, please keep it a secret until the very end.Helpful info for detectives: There will be clues around the museum for you to discover, indicated with a MAGNIFYING GLASS icon. You might also find that some people working the event can be bribed for clues in exchange for a $5 donation to the museum, so come prepared!The mingling and clue-release phase of the party ends when a body is discovered. Gasp! At this time, the lead Private Investigator will reveal the time of death, where the body was found, and how the victim was killed. Then the Detectives will each have a chance to ask one question to one suspect family. There are 15 Detective tickets available, so 15 questions total will be asked during this phase of the game. Then it is up to them to piece together all the clues and cast their vote on which FAMILY murdered the victim. If the majority of Detectives correctly identify the family, then a confession will be made and the guilty party will be hauled away in handcuffs.
