Le Tour de Sanford is 12 miles.
We feel that’s plenty.

Sure, we won’t be climbing the Alps. But we will be tackling some of Sanford’s most legendary terrain, including the absolutely savage 15-foot-ish rise on Park Avenue where the railroad tracks cross the road. Pace yourself. Oxygen may be required.

And forget the Champs-Élysées. Our scenic course will showcase the very finest Sanford has to offer:

🇫🇷 The old Dairy Queen
🇫🇷 A trailer park
🇫🇷 Beautiful old houses in the Historic District
🇫🇷 An electrical substation
🇫🇷 A sewer plant
🇫🇷 Railroad tracks
🇫🇷 And several other places France can only dream about

Will thousands of spectators line the boulevard?

Probably not.

But there’s a decent chance some guy taking his trash out will wave at us. And frankly, that’s good enough.

We’ll have three official Tour Stops along the route where everyone can regroup, catch their breath and discuss how they’re somehow still alive. But between stops, this is an individual effort. Ride your pace. Race your imaginary rival. Pretend you’re wearing the yellow jersey. We don’t care.

Bring your road bike. Mountain bike. Cruiser. E-bike. Dirt-bike-looking bicycle. Weird bike you bought for $37. If it has pedals and can survive 12 miles of Sanford, bring it.

We originally suggested everyone wear Lycra.

We have reconsidered.

Please do not wear Lycra because we told you to.

Also, this ride is not for fame, fortune or international cycling glory, so please do not use performance-enhancing drugs in preparation for Le Tour de Sanford. A beer afterward is considerably more on-brand.

No stuffiness. No peloton politics. No support cars. No Alps.

Just bikes, Sanford, questionable landmarks and the overwhelming prestige of completing the greatest bicycle tour on Earth that happens to be 12 miles long.
