🚴✨ Into the Wildlight Zoo Ride – Monday, Dec. 15 @ 6 PM ✨🚴
Sanford Bicycle Club is heading out on a glowing adventure! We’ll roll from Dees Brothers Brewery at 6 PM sharp for a 10-mile round-trip ride down the Riverwalk and out to the Central Florida Zoo.
🐾 Doubtful we’ll see any animals (though maybe we’ll hear them in the shadows), but we will catch sight of some of the spectacular creatures from the Asian Lantern Festival: Into the Wild.
Here’s the plan (still in flux, so your feedback matters):
• 🚲 Option A: Ride to the zoo, check out a few lanterns, then head back to Dees.
• 🐉 Option B: If there’s interest, we’ll attend the festival itself before riding back.
⚠️ Important: The lantern festival does not allow walk-up tickets. All tickets must be purchased in advance. That means we need to make a decision as a club soon so everyone can lock theirs in.
🌟 About the Asian Lantern Festival 🌟
Running select nights Nov. 14, 2025 – Jan. 18, 2026, the Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens transforms into a kaleidoscope of color. A 3/4-mile pathway of handcrafted lanterns lights the night with thousands of LEDs. Expect ocean-inspired landscapes, mythical creatures like ice dragons and unicorns, and a new twist on the showcase dragon. Festival hours are 6–10 PM, with tickets starting at $24 (kids under 2 free).
