The property offers a rare, immersive look at colonial life, featuring a traditional layout complete with a keeping room, birthing room, and parlor, all accented by original woodwork paint colors and massive 32-foot ceiling beams. Beyond the three working fireplaces and period-appropriate furnishings of the main house, the homestead features a carriage house, family cemetery, and expansive wooded trails — as well as a barn reconstructed with original timber framing and unique reverse-board-and-batten siding.EVENT DETAILSSaturdays from April through OctoberEvent Open: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PMAddress: Sweat-Morin Homestead, 374 School Street, Sanford, METhe homestead house and barn are handicapped accessible.FREE ADMISSIONAdmittance to this event is FREE to the public, although donations are always welcomed.
