Whether you are a seasoned "green thumb" or just looking to get a little fresh air, our monthly Garden Check-ins are the perfect way to stay connected to the seasons and your community.Working together at our accessible raised beds, we tend to the crops that support The Resilience Garden project. These sessions are designed to be low-strain and high-reward—no heavy lifting required, just a willingness to learn and lend a hand.What to Expect Each Month:Seasonal Hands-On Tasks: We’ll handle whatever the garden needs most—from planting spring cool-season crops to harvesting summer bounty and prepping for winter.Garden Tips & Tricks: Extension Master Gardener volunteers and Center staff will be on-site to answer your personal gardening questions and demonstrate easy techniques for raised-bed success.Community Connection: Enjoy the fresh air and fellowship with other local seniors while helping grow food that makes our community more resilient.What to Bring:Comfortable Clothing: Wear clothes you don’t mind getting a little dusty!Sun Protection: A hat and sunglasses are always a good idea.Water Bottle: Stay hydrated while we work. Note: Tools and gloves are provided, but feel free to bring your favorite pair of garden gloves if you prefer!Registration: Please RSVP via Eventbrite or call the Enrichment Center at 919-776-0501.Logistics & Statements:N.C.
