TKU Tread School - Mt Hood

Sponsored by the Oregon Mount Hood Territory, TKO Tread School is returning to the Mt Hood corridor! We had an absolute blast at Camp Namanu last year and are happy to return in 2026!

Join Trailkeepers of Oregon for our annual trails stewardship training!

With both classroom and field experience sessions led by experienced leaders, we’ll help you get ready to tackle a wide range of trail stewardship needs. No experience necessary!

Thanks to the support of our generous sponsors, we are excited to offer volunteers free registration, with a pay-it-forward ticket option for those who have the means to support future training opportunities. If you are a professional with an agency or other partner with limited resources, we’d love to work with you.

• Keynote speaker presentation from an industry professional.
• Classroom session on trail design, erosion, terminology, and maintenance.
• 2 days on the trail, where experienced TKO leaders will supply you with hands-on training and everything you need to get involved with trail stewardship work.
• Meals from Friday dinner through Sunday lunch (vegetarian/vegan/gluten-free options available).
• Lodging – you have the option of bunking in a shared cabin (bring your own sleeping bag and pillow), camping in your van/RV, or camping(bring your own tent and camping gear).
• If sharing a room or camping is not going to work for you, or if it is simply more convenient, you are more than welcome to commute.

Participants will receive a detailed schedule in the lead-up to the event; however, here are the key times:

Friday, May 1st:

4 PM: Check-in/Get Settled/Get to know everyone

6:15 PM: Dinner

Welcome and Keynotes from TKO and Camp Namanu

Social time/music jam/enjoy the mountain air

Saturday, May 2nd:

8:15 AM: Breakfast

Trails 101 Presentation

Head out to the project sites for hands-on learning and practice

4 PM-4:30 PM: Return to base

6:15 PM Dinner/Keynote

Sunday, May 3rd:

8:15 AM: Breakfast

Head out to the project sites for more hands-on learning and practice

By 4 PM: Wrap up and head home
