Join us for an epic Clean Up Australia Day event at Ralphโs Bay Canal, and be part of the solution, not the pollution!
Before getting stuck in, we'll kick off the event with a guest speaker session to learn how we can best reuse, reduce and recycle. Afterwards, we'll pick up our litter pickers and and aim to record and find all the litter that's along the canal.
By volunteering at this event, youโll play an integral role in keeping our iconic waterway clean and safe for wildlife and humans alike. Each piece of litter picked up reduces marine pollution and the risk of injury of (or ingestion by) marine wildlife.
While walking along Ralph's Bay Canal, we will see water birds, see the beautiful timtumili minanya (Derwent River) and spend a couple of hours outside in nature.
***Important: Please ensure you wear sun-smart clothing for this activity: a long-sleeved shirt, long pants, a hat and fully enclosed shoes suitable for walking and with good traction (no sandals or flip flops).***
If you have any questions about this event, or if you'd like to register a group of volunteers, please message Janine on
