2026 King of the Derwent Yacht Race

The Derwent Sailing Squadron invites entries from the owners of eligible boats to compete for prestigious trophies in the King of the Derwent Yacht Race, proudly sponsored by Innovative Electrical, on 2 January 2026, starting at 14:00 Australian Eastern Daylight Time (AEDT).

Sponsored by Innovative Electrical, the King of the Derwent Yacht Race is an exciting event bringing together competitors of the Launceston to Hobart Yacht Race, Sydney to Hobart and Melbourne to Hobart races and local boats.

The iconic race on Hobart’s Derwent River has been held for more than 40 years, and over that time has welcomed some of the most famous international ocean racing yachts.
