Meet at the Cape Cod Canal Visitor Center for these hands-on activities and games. Weather permitting all sessions will be held outdoors.

July 15 – What Floats Your Boat?
Ever wonder how those big ships in Canal can float and not sink? Is it their shape, what they’re made of or maybe the water itself?  We’ll engage in hands-on activities and design and test boats to find out.

July 22 – Animal Adaptations
Do you ever wonder how a woodpecker can drill a hole in a tree without getting a headache? This week we will be celebrating amazing animal adaptations and how they help animals survive in the wild. And then you’ll put your abilities to the test to see how you compete with some of the local wildlife. Can you jump further than a bullfrog? 

July 29 – Happy Birthday Cape Cod Canal 
The Cape Cod Canal turns 112 years old today. We’ll celebrate this engineering marvel by solving our own engineering challenges. Join us for a morning full of hands-on activities that will have you thinking like an engineer. Design, build and test… how strong is it? Will it fly? Will it lift? Let’s find out!

Aug 5 – Pollinator Partnership
Let’s take a closer look at the pollinator garden outside the Visitor Center. We’ll explore what’s growing there, what animal activities we see, and why they are there. With hands-on activities we’ll learn about pollination, the partnership plants and animals have in the pollination process, and why it is so important for all life.

Aug 12 – Touch & Sea
Lobsters, crabs, sea stars and more. Join us for a hands-on experience with live marine critters! Discover the fascinating ways these animals adapt and survive to life’s challenges.
