Spend a meaningful morning with Sandwich Bay Bird Observatory’s Education Officer and Wardens from Kent Wildlife Trust's Warden and White Cliffs Countryside Partnership as we explore the rich wildlife of this stunning coastal area - and take action to protect it.
Discover the diverse plants and animals that call Sandwich Bay home, play games which will help you understand the threats to their survival, then roll up your sleeves for a rewarding beach clean to help preserve this precious habitat.
Whether you're a seasoned nature lover or just curious to learn more about local wildlife, this event is a fantastic way to connect with your community, enjoy the outdoors, and make a real environmental impact.
Please be aware:
- Tickets are free but must be allocated to your whole party
Children are welcome to attend but must be accompanied by an adult who is able to encourage and help them with the activities.
- Our session starts at 10am, meeting at Sandwich Bay Bird Observatory's Field Centre and ends around 1pm so please arrive in good time.
- All activities take place outdoors and we recommend appropriate clothing and protection for all weathers, as well as drinks bottles which can be refilled
- This event is suitable for all ages, but our walk - which is approximately 3km in total - is not suitable for pushchairs
- Sandwich Bay Bird Observatory lies within the private estate of Sandwich Bay, which operates a toll road. There is a small fee of £1 at the Tollgate for non-members visiting the Observatory. However, you must exit from the same toll booth, otherwise you will be charged £8. Once at the Field Centre, parking is free. If the toll booth operators are absent during the time of your visit, you can pay the £1 charge on your exit
- If you or a member of your household are feeling unwell on the day of the event, please do not attend.

- We cannot accommodate dogs at this event
Our Field Centre has a small shop on site, stocking snacks and souvenirs.
