Knowing it’s by design does little to appease the anxiety 

Initially one by one we’ve all thought “what can I do” 
Which has led us all to all over 
Message boards, protest chords 
Online posts, to real life toasts 
Encrypted chats , calling out rats
Libraries and primaries 
Town halls, making calls
Wooded trails, Amtrak’s rails  
Boycotting companies stores, showing up on brand new doors 
Strangers trying to help their communities 
Hand shakes that have turned into hugs 
All looking for our way

through all of it enough of us have found each other and hope city was born. With the idea that collectively, with direct action, we could make a difference. 
Meeting after meeting, earnestly and eagerly thinking of ways we could act. 
Action after action somehow still feeling like we could have done more
Focused so heavily on the enemy 
Naively believing our shared anxiety and political ideologies would be enough to bond us while overlooking what’s been right in front of us this entire time. 
What we’re all really here for 
COMMUNITY 

Let’s correct that 
Many of us have been lucky enough to have already found these bonds within our group. This time let’s see what we can do so everyone else can find them to. 
This meeting let’s just be there for each other. Let’s focus on trust. Let’s focus on bonding. 
We will start off with light conversation while we work on protest signs intentionally keeping it brief so we can all just get to know each other a little better by throwing a party 
Some folks are bringing food
Some booze
The projector will be running a movie 
Game boards will be going 
If you like books, we’ve  got you a nook! 
Need a ride ? Just reach out! we’ll have several ride options available 
like video games? Bring that shit too
What ever your thing is bring it along !!
Introverts and quirks encouraged 
We want everyone to feel welcomed 

It may be easy to write this meeting off as unimportant but this one may actually be THE most important one yet 

Conversations lead to action 
We can not act if we are not conversating 
The more we talk, the more we bond
The more we bond, the more we trust
