The Minnesota Climbers Association is proud to host, in partnership with Lake State Mountaineering, University of Minnesota - Duluth, and KAF Adventures - the 2026 Sandstone Ice Festival!
January 9th, 10th, 11th, 2026 at The Sandstone Ice Park in Sandstone, MN.
Please join us for a weekend of ice climbing and winter fun! This Celebration of Winter reaches the cold-tolerant from around the Midwest and Canada. The event has always been a great way to learn new skills, connect with old friends and make new ones.
The Sandstone Ice Festival is a fantastic way to make your ice climbing debut or to hone your skills for the upcoming season or return to one of the Midwest’s most awesome Winter climbing events.
CAMPING
Free camping is available in the park for the event, courtesy of The City of Sandstone. Please be discreet.
LODGING
Is available at Osprey Wilds (formerly The Audubon Center of the North Woods). Dormitory accommodations - four people per room, bring your own bedding. All arrangements must be made directly with Osprey Wilds. Stay tuned for reservation link!
PARKING
Parking will be available only in the designated parking lots. Overflow parking will be available across Highway 23 on Pine Avenue. There is NO ATTENDEE PARKING in "the loop" which is reserved for vendors, event organizers. Please abide.
GEAR RENTAL
Gear rental at the event will be available through our friends at Lake State Mountaineering.

Instructional clinics will be offered Friday, Saturday and Sunday by our friends at KAF Adventures - stay tuned for clinic information!
RAFFLE
Join us at Osprey Wilds Saturday night for our fundraising raffle! All proceeds to support the Sandstone Ice Park and the MCA's mission. Seriously, this year's raffle is going to be amazing, we are overflowing with generous support donations.
