Join Capital Region Land Conservancy’s Land Stewardship Manager, Ashley Moulton, on Monday, April 20 from 3:00pm – 5:00pm to discover what’s growing at the Varina LandLab Conservation Area! 

Our most popular educational guided hike takes visitors to the Varina LandLab Conservation Area with CRLC Land Stewardship Manager and Biologist, Ashley Moulton, where we’ll explore the variety of lush growth along the Loop Trail overlooking Four Mile Creek, discuss the natural regeneration following a prescribed burn, and learn how to document sightings on the iNaturalist app. This is an educational easy-level, leisurely walk of interest to novices and experts alike. We’ll walk over two miles along wide gravel paths. 

The Varina LandLab Conservation Area is a 353-acre public land located off historic Route 5 and the Virginia Capital Trail in eastern Henrico County and owned and stewarded by Capital Region Land Conservancy. The park features three trailheads located off Deep Bottom Road providing nearly five miles of trails through meadows, grasslands and along pine forests with views of the James River and Four Mile Creek.
