🌱Earth Day & Arbor Day Celebration
Join us for a community Earth Day celebration with hands‑on activities, educational booths, free tree seedlings, and opportunities to connect with local environmental groups and nature experts. Fun for all ages!

The event takes place in the Sandpoint Library Garden—please dress for the weather. If inclement weather requires, some activities and booths will move indoors.

Schedule:
10:00 AM –  Earth Day Storytime
A themed storytime perfect for families and young listeners.

10:30 AM – Composting & Vermiculture Class
Bonner County Gardeners Association members will teach how to recycle & use kitchen scraps and yard waste to make healthy compost.

11:30 AM – 1:00 PM: Tree Planting Workshop
Learn how to select trees for the site and plant your next tree with confidence. ISA Certified Arborist, Paige Belfry will demonstrate proper planting techniques by planting a tree at the Library.

 Special Activities throughout the event:
“Ask an Expert” Booth
Get quick, personalized advice from local tree and garden experts.

Photo Contest – Celebrating Trees Through Photography
Capture trees in the City of Sandpoint that you feel should be officially designated as Heritage Trees. All photos will also be presented to Sandpoint’s Urban Forestry Commission to be considered for formal recognition as Heritage Trees in the City of Sandpoint. Winners will receive a gift card and their photos will be published in the Sandpoint Reader. Interested in participating? LEARN MORE
