L’idea alla base dell’incontro è quella di portare nella formula del trio le invenzioni ritmiche e intervallari e la libertà tipiche della musica di D’Andrea, e di confrontarsi con un repertorio poco frequentato da questo tipo di formazione: dal blues al jazz delle origini, passando per Ellington e Coltrane, alla pura invenzione. D’Andrea recupera dalle origini del jazz un feeling blues che permea la poetica del trio e dà vita a una musica libera, gioiosa ed estremamente comunicativa.
