Se oggi i cantanti jazz abbondano, non era così nel 1988 quando David Linx (che canta da quando aveva 10 anni) abbandonò la batteria per il canto.

Sin dagli inizi, David Linx è stato doppiamente influenzato: prima da Betty Carter, campionessa in tutte le categorie di audizioni per pianisti, e poi da Mark Murphy. È stato occasionalmente il batterista di Murphy in Europa. In Real Men Cry, David Linx continua i suoi scambi con un trio di funamboli: Grégory Privat, Chris Jennings e Arnaud Dolmen.

Opening: Toccata. Il quartetto è composto da Arkady Shilkloper (corno, corno delle alpi, flicorno), Mario Piacentini (piano), Roberto Bonati (contrabbasso) e Marco Tonin (batteria e percussioni). Il gruppo prende il nome da una celebre composizione del grande pianista Misha Alperin, scomparso nel 2018, e riunisce i 4 musicisti in sua memoria. Ognuno di loro ha condiviso con Alperin un profondo legame artistico e personale.
