Based on Shakespeare’s Othello, the story follows a brilliant general, Otello—sung by Rodrigo Garciarroyo, returning to the stage after several years—who falls deeply in love with the radiant Desdemona, portrayed by Jacinta Barbachano, whose silver voice and dazzling high notes have captivated audiences season after season. Their happiness is short-lived when the cunning Iago, sung by audience favorite Enrique Angles, plots to destroy them out of pure envy. His weapon of choice? Not poison, not daggers—just a handkerchief.
