- **Event Description**: A band of highschoolers who are passionate about music are getting together this summer raising funds for Carlmont High School and another charity by volunteering their time and talent to bring a fun concert for our families friends and neighbors. On August 9th these young musicians will present to you some well-loved music pieces in our "Summertime MusicFest" fund raising event in San Mateo Main Library.   In this Summertime MusicFest we're showcasing the talent of our young musicians giving our local aspiring artists a stage to share their music. By contributing you'll be directly funding the music education of young students such as them!  After expenses half of the donations will be given to Carlmont High School's music program and the other half will be given to a charity or organization of the musicians' choice.  Carlmont music program has been providing amazing educations to our kids from Belmont San Mateo Redwood City and Foster City. There are total of over 200 students in 4 different bands: Honor Band Symphonic Band Symphonic Orchestra and Jazz band. They have been the main spotlight of the popular "Save the Music" festival in Twin Pines Park that local residents have enjoyed for the past 23 years since 2002. They have brough much fun and joy to sports events graduation ceremonies 9 annual concerts with live broadcast on radio stations. With limited fundings from the government for less than $5 per student these music programs are mainly funded by our local residents. Your generous donations means these talented young people will continue to have the music instruments coaching stage resources and support to make them successful!
