- **Event Description**: We'll paddle downstream for about 4 hours from Lyons Club in San Marcos to Martindale River Access. I need a couple volunteers to meet me early at the park so a few of us can leave our cars there. The address is 405 FM1979, Martindale, TX 78655 and parking is $10 all day. Then we shuttle up to the start of the river and paddle down.
It is a very varied float, there are some mild rapids, 3 portages over dams and waterfalls, some fun fast areas, some wide open flat areas, incredible scenery. Just a little longer than last time.
If you have ever floated Lyons, or Don's, this includes the path of both floats, as well as the oft ignored stretches of river between them where only the SUPers and Kayakers can easily go.
The train leaves promptly at 9, meaning you should arrive at Lyons at 8:30 and get aired up and sunscreened up before 9. The first stretch of the float is upstream half a mile to a pretty waterfall, If you are running late, you can catch us when we come back past you at 9:20ish
