Poets & Artists Against ICE Raids from the Rio Grande Valley will be performing from 7 to 9 p.m. at Museo 956, in San Juan, Texas on Bus. Hwy. 83 to protest the illegal actions of Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials under the Thrump administration.  

Featured readers include Edward Vidaurre, Paola Carrasco, David Bowles, Tiffany Lozano, Jose M. Ponce, Anthony Ripp, Michael Jones, and Max T. Lozano . . . . Emcee is Daniel García Ordaz (a.k.a. The Poet Mariachi.) Representatives from LULAC will also be joining us.

Featured writers will have up to 9 minutes to perform up to two poems or spoken word pieces or three haiku. 

Featured Artist is Studio M by Michael Jones.

This is a free event brought to you by Museo 956 and Save The San Juan Hotel in collaboration with the Seven To Eight Poetry Project, a program of the 2023/2024 McAllen Poet Laureate emeritus.

Donations to the Museo 956, the Rio Grande Valley's only civil rights museum, a 501(c) 3 nonprofit. This is not required, but welcome.
