Join the Hikers United crew as we hike to the beautiful and scenic Covignes Gorges on Saturday 13th December.
This hike involves a walk along the meandering Covigne river to two gorges. The first gorge includes a captivating walk through a towering overhead rock tunnel, through the path of the water, through small pools.
The second gorge includes a beautiful emerald green pool, perfect for a relaxing and bathing.
The hiking time from the start to the second gorge is 1 hour and 15 minutes.
The gorges were carved out over time by the river’s natural through the rocks. The enclosure of the gorges feels like being in a secret room carved out by time. The atmosphere is very cool and refreshing with occasional gusts of wind adding to the coolness. The entire experience of Covigne Gorges from seeing the World War 2 bunker, the Nutmeg Grove with its small tucked-away waterfall to the captivating meandering river walk through the gorges, this hike never fails to excite!
