- **Event Description**: CLE on AI ethics in legal practice: competence, confidentiality, bias risks, and professional responsibility in the digital age.About this EventHosted by the Puerto Rico Lawyers Chapter of the Federalist Society, this 1-hour Ethics CLE will feature a live debate on artificial intelligence and judicial decision-making. As AI tools increasingly influence legal research, drafting, and adjudication, lawyers and judges must confront pressing questions of competence, confidentiality, supervision of technology, candor to the court, and the integrity of the judicial process. The program will specifically address compliance under the newly adopted Puerto Rico Rules of Professional Conduct that went into effect last year, including the duty of technological competence and related ethical obligations when using AI in practice.Kyle Singhal, Partner at Hopwood & Singhal, PLLC and Professorial Lecturer in Law at The George Washington University Law School, will debate Jack Kieffaber on whether AI enhances predictability and consistency in the courts—or threatens judicial independence and human judgment. This program qualifies for 1 hour of Ethics CLE credit in Puerto Rico. The ticket includes a hummus appetizer; a choice of main course (chicken curry, lamb shank, or vegetarian combination); water, coffee, and dessert; all applicable Eventbrite service charges and fees; gratuities and taxes; valet parking (please tip the valet); and the $3.00 per-participant, per-credit fee required by the Puerto Rico Supreme Court’s Continuing Legal Education Program.Registration begins at 6:30 p.m. Dinner and CLE will run from 7:00 p.m. to at least 8:00 p.m., followed by a cash-bar networking reception until at least 10:00 p.m.Tickets are available online only through Eventbrite; none will be sold at the door.
