Join us for an afternoon of volunteering at a wonderful community event!Shifts:There are 4 shifts you can sign up for, and you are welcome to sign up for as many of them as you'd like! Please provide contact information for each volunteer, so that we can communicate to all volunteers as needed.Shift Hours:Sunday, April 26th, 2026Shift 1: 8:00-10:00 AMShift 2: 10:00-12:00 PMShift 3: 12:00-2:00 PMShift 4: 2:00-5:00 PMWhat to Expect:Bike parking will take place near the entry of the street closure at 5th and Jackson. Your responsibilities will be to:Interact briefly with many people delivering their bicycles to your careExplain to customers the process of checking a bike in and picking a bike upStaple tickets around handlebarsWalk bikes to and from the racks and the entrance of the bike parking corralWatch the bikes during the eventAssist with data entry using a QR codeQualificationsVolunteers should be able to perform one of the following:Verbally or non-verbally greet bicyclist customersExplain the intake process to bicyclist customersLift a bicycle on or off of a rackStaple ticketsCount bicyclesLight data entry using a QR codeMinor VolunteersVolunteers aged 13 to 18, who are not accompanied by a parent or legal guardian are required to complete and return a Minor Consent Form to eleni@bikesiliconvalley.org. Alternatively, please bring a signed waiver form to the Event Lead the day of the event. Volunteers under the age of 13 must also be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian to volunteer.Parents/Guardians, if your child is coming with you to volunteer, the expectation is that they can be independent and contribute to the bike parking operations without your need to supervise them. You will be working together but must be able to leave them unattended at times.
