- **Event Description**: Hi everyone! It's that time of year again to mark your calendars for the annual Vintage VW Christmas Light Cruise and Gift Exchange, happening this year on December 13.

The start location this year will be the parking lot of US Bank at 1399 Foxworthy Ave, San Jose, CA 95118 (at the corner of Cherry & Foxworthy).... There are several shops across the street, including a Starbucks, if people need any food or drinks prior to departure.  (This is the same start location as last year)

PLEASE READ EVENT DESCRIPTION IN FULL.

This drive is primarily for Vintage Volkswagens. Other vehicles are welcome but we would like the aircooled VWs to be together in the front, and other vehicles in the back.

BRING A RADIO IF YOU HAVE ONE TO STAY IN COMMUNICATION.

MEET TIME IS 5PM!
We will plan to hit the road by 5:30pm. We will have a brief driver's meeting ~7 minutes prior to departure.

We will depart from the start location and cruise through Willow Glen to check out some of the nicest decorated houses in San Jose! Cruise time will be ~1.5+ hours. 
The cruise route will be ~13.9 miles with a brief stop just past the midpoint.

The cruise will end at Mountain Mike's Pizza at 1532 Branham Ln, San Jose, CA 95118, where we will have pizza and gift exchange. 

Participation in the gift exchange is of course completely optional, but to participate please bring a wrapped gift of ~$40 value.

This event will be mapped out using Ride With GPS (See app on Android/iOS).
 I encourage everyone to download the app to follow along the cruise route live so that we all stay together. You should be able to access the route using the free version of the app, but turn by turn directions are available with a paid subscription (cancel afterwards and you will only pay $7.99 for one month).

PLEASE LOOK OVER THE ROUTE BEFOREHAND and when on the cruise stay with the car in front of you so we can keep everyone together.  Remember, large spaces between cars are compounded from front to back and as a result the back of the the cruise can end up far back from the front.
DO NOT LEAVE LARGE SPACES BETWEEN YOU AND THE CAR IN FRONT OF YOU.  
DO NOT STOP FOR PICTURES (have a passenger take pictures).
DO NOT HOLD UP THE CRUISE FOR ANY REASON.
BE MINDFUL OF THE SPEED WE ARE TRAVELLING AT AND ADJUST ACCORDINGLY:  We will slow down for the well decorated areas and speed up for the spots in between so the cruise does not take all night.  If I speed up in front, follow and adjust speed.

This is a family friendly event. Please be respectful of other people and vehicles or you will be asked to leave.
