Working with paper, fabric, found materials, and drawing media, her abstract compositions explore presence and perception through layered, process-driven methods. Samson holds degrees in psychology and studio art from The Ohio State University and received her MFA from the Columbus College of Art & Design. Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally in group exhibitions, including at Beeler Gallery, the Centre Pompidou, and the Helms Design Center. What Holds Us reflects on care, presence, and compassion as ongoing practices shaped throughout the ebb and flow, the effort and ease, of daily life. Drawing from domestic space, personal relationships, and recurring ritual, the works explore how emotional and spiritual stability is cultivated through patience, trust, and commitment. Though visually soft and open, the pieces are constructed through labor-intensive processes such as stitching, papermaking, printmaking, animation, and collage. Across layered surfaces and intimate imagery, What Holds Us considers the quiet forces that bind and support us: relationships, routines, and reverence for life's simple, everyday moments.
