Dani Sampson and her Exhibit
“What Holds Us” opening March 7, 2026
(San Gabriel, CA) – Artists & Makers Studios is pleased to present Dani Sampson’s body of mixed-media paintings entitled, “What Holds Us.” Dani Samson is a contemporary mixed media artist based in Los Angeles, California. Working with paper, fabric, found materials, and drawing media, her abstract compositions explore presence and perception through layered, process-driven methods. Samson holds degrees in psychology and studio art from The Ohio State University and received her MFA from the Columbus College of Art & Design. Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally in group exhibitions, including at Beeler Gallery, the Centre Pompidou, and the Helms Design Center.
What Holds Us reflects on care, presence, and compassion as ongoing practices shaped throughout the ebb and flow, the effort and ease, of daily life. Drawing from domestic space, personal relationships, and recurring ritual, the works explore how emotional and spiritual stability is cultivated through patience, trust, and commitment. Though visually soft and open, the pieces are constructed through labor-intensive processes such as stitching, papermaking, printmaking, animation, and collage.
Across layered surfaces and intimate imagery, What Holds Us considers the quiet forces that bind and support us: relationships, routines, and reverence for life's simple, everyday moments. Together, the works invite viewers into a contemplative space that honors both making and witnessing, and the subtle ways meaning is built, tended, and held over time.

Viewing hours are 10:00am – 4:00pm, Tuesday-Saturday, and by chance or appointment. Artists & Makers Studios on Parklawn Drive in Rockville, established in October of 2014 by artist and arts community builder Judith HeartSong, is a 13,000 sq. ft. facility is home to 87 artists, as well as student artists. Artists & Makers Studios – Oro Valley, AZ is a five-year-old jewel box location with talented Resident Artists, 3,575 sq. ft. of studios, galleries, and flex-classroom space. Newly constructed two-story 9,508 sq. ft. studio space in San Gabriel, CA for Artists & Makers Studios’ third location is filling now, with construction underway for the three-story 13,902 sq. ft. location in North Hollywood, CA. A&M Studios is dedicated to providing a supportive and vibrant environment for artists to realize their creative goals - through studio practice, collaboration, education, opportunities, networking and connecting with the community beyond our doors.
