Winter Solstice Ceremony: Cacao, Soundbath, & Intention Setting

We open our Solstice Ceremony with the sacred smoke of copal, used for centuries in Indigenous traditions to cleanse, uplift, and call in high vibrations. As we gather in the Solstice, we enter a potent portal to reflect, release, and renew. This deep inner clearing is powerful preparation for stepping into the New Year with intention, clarity, and an awakened sense of purpose. Together, we shed the layers of the past year, plant new seeds of intention, and awaken the inner light that guides us through winter’s mystery.

We begin with Cacao, a sacred medicine of Indigenous people. Maryzelle will guide participants through a heart-opening cacao ceremony, sharing the ancestral teachings of this revered plant spirit. Rooted in her Salvadoran lineage and years of study of curaderismo, she offers cacao to connect us to our hearts, our community, our Mother Earth, and our prayer. This cacao is potent, activating, and deeply embodied: igniting warmth in the chest and illuminating the inner pathways where intention and intuition meet.

After the cacao blessing, we journey inward through intention setting and guided breathwork, a practice of deep listening and remembrance. Maryzelle leads gentle breath and visualization techniques to quiet the mind, release tension, and reconnect with inner peace. In this intentional space, we open the doorway to intuition, clarity, and emotional renewal.

We then transition into a Soundbath, an immersive experience of vibration and frequency designed to restore harmony to the body and spirit. Using seven chakra-tuned crystal singing bowls, a gong, chimes, and the sacred medicine drum, Maryzelle weaves layers of sound that wash through the nervous system and realign the subtle energy centers. Each tone serves as a prayer, each rhythm a pulse of renewal, inviting the body into deep rest and opening pathways for healing and release.

At the center of our space, a simple Winter Solstice altar will bloom with a single focal point of beauty—an offering of light where we place our prayers and intentions. Participants are welcome to bring a small item to honor their ancestors, gratitude, or transformation.
