IIS Cine Club -La giusta distanza by Carlo Mazzacurati

Join us for an Italian cinema evening at our next Cine Club meeting on Friday, April 17th!

We’ll be screening La giusta distanza by Carlo Mazzacurati, a poignant drama that blends mystery, romance, and social commentary.

Set in a small town in the Po Valley, the story begins with the arrival of Mara, a young schoolteacher whose presence stirs curiosity and desire in the community. Through the eyes of Giovanni, an aspiring journalist, we witness the fragile balance between truth and prejudice as cultural differences, suspicion, and hidden passions collide, leading to a tragic chain of events.

Come for a cinematic journey that probes questions of perspective, distance, and justice in human relationships, enriched by a discussion with teacher Barbara designed to deepen your understanding of the film, its cultural references, and the social dynamics of contemporary Italy.

The movie will be screened in Italian with English subtitles, making it accessible for all levels of language proficiency.
